Retirement — What's next?
A 6-week coaching program with Jo Green

Whether you're fully or semi-retired, I'll help you figure out what you want next and how to make it happen. This program is a structured, absorbing, enjoyable mix of practical, reassuring coaching, evidence-backed exercises and low-risk, real-world experiments.

Transition to retirement coaching - which one feels like you?

You’re adapting

You worked hard for decades, and you were looking forward to ... stopping. But now that moment's here — something feels off.

Maybe you're not sure who you are anymore. No job title, no team, no work routine. Maybe the days feel empty, long, pointless even.

You know people who've sailed into retirement; how come it's not working like that for you?

Rediscover who you are beyond your job title.

You’re transitioning

Retirement. Hmmm — you're not keen, not ready, or maybe just not able to retire. Yet.

That said, you know you need to work differently. Fewer, more flexible hours. Maybe a mix of part-time and freelance.

You've got a ton of transferable skills. You'd like to use them in new ways AND pass them on via mentoring, volunteering, joining a board or consulting.

Now: Transition with clarity and confidence.

Hi, I’m Jo

I've been helping people reinvent themselves since 2016.

Many coaching clients come to me feeling stuck, uncertain, and quietly desperate for a more meaningful life.

If you need help building a retired or semi-retired life that fits who you are right now, I can help.  We’ll figure out what you want and what you need to do more of, less of, or differently to build that life.

As a career coach, I’ve learned that the questions at the heart of a fulfilling life — Who am I? What do I value? What do I want my life to look like? These questions don't lose their power or relevance when you're on the brink or actually retired.

If anything, they get louder, deeper and sometimes even more mysterious.

That's why I now work with people navigating life after work — bringing my practical, thoughtful, experience-led approach to one of our most significant transitions.

As a four-time career changer, I know what it feels like to question your direction, doubt yourself, and rebuild your sense of identity from the ground up.

I’ve long been fascinated by the many ways we can lead a purposeful life. And my curiosity and commitment to doing this shaped my former career in the not-for-profit sector, and my work as a volunteer and board member.

I have a coaching qualification from CoachU, and I’m an Advanced Certified Coach through Careershifters and Firework.

Qualifications count. But perhaps the most important things I bring to our coaching sessions are genuine curiosity about who you are, deep respect for where you've been, and a warm but direct approach that helps you move forward.  You won’t be told what to do. You will be asked the right questions — and supported to test ideas in real life.

I’m based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia, but I coach people everywhere.

If you’re transitioning to semi-retirement, we'll focus on:

  • Exploring what's behind your need to shift gears, and what this means in terms of lifestyle and values

  • Generating and prioritising ideas for work that could fit

  • Identifying the skills you love using most and want to pass on

  • Testing these options in the real world: conversations with people doing the work you're intrigued by, volunteering, and finding out about freelancing

  • Working through the fears and feelings around capabilities and practicalities of changing the way you work.

You’ll leave with a clear, confident vision for rebalancing work and life, and a plan to make it happen.

Adapters: If you’re approaching retirement or newly retired, we'll focus on

Rediscovering who you are beyond your job title — your values, strengths, and what genuinely lights you up.  We’ll envisage a life that excites rather than overwhelms you by:

  • Finding purpose and meaning in this new chapter — we’ll uncover practical, absorbing, fun ways to do things that matter to you. Maybe that’s creating a lively, energising weekly rhythm or a shortlist of fulfilling projects

  • Building confidence in who you're becoming, not just who you were —so retirement feels more like a beginning and less like an ending

  • Working through the fears and feelings that come with leaving behind a working life that substantially defined your sense of self.

You’ll leave with a clear sense of who you are and a practical plan for living as that human
