How do I know if you are the coach for me?
Send me an email to organise a no obligation 20 minute phone to see if we are a good fit to work together, and to discuss what you would like to achieve through coaching. I will explain about the coaching that I offer and what you can expect from coaching sessions with me if you decide to go ahead.
Where do you coach?
I offer face-to-face sessions for my Sydney clients. I also coach local and global clients via Zoom (like Skype but my clients prefer it) and phone.
When are you available?
I coach during the day from Monday to Wednesday between 8am and 6pm in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). I also offer evening sessions on two nights a week between 7pm and 9pm (AEST).
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are generally an hour long once a fortnight. Career change coaching includes work done between the sessions to consolidate and test new things you’ve learned about yourself and your career potential, and to complete practical exercises.
How many sessions will I need?
On average I work with clients for 8-12 sessions. We work through a structured process but at your pace. You can choose to have a session once a week or once a fortnight, depend on how much time you have between sessions to complete the exercises I give you.
Do I have to do anything between sessions?
Yes! At the end of each session we will chat about what next. This might be reviewing and summarising what we spoke about, completing exercises I give you, researching potential career ideas or putting in to practice something we discussed.
Will you look at my skills and tell me what career I should do?
I'm not a Career Counsellor or Career Adviser. As a coach I will never tell you what to do.
You are much more likely to engage with options that you have come up with yourself, rather than those that are forced upon you!
I will lead you through an exploratory process to gain clarity on your skills, motivations, values, purpose and ideal work (amongst other things). We will brainstorm career ideas together, but I will never advise you or tell you what to do.
What types of career changes do people do after completing the programme?
What people do is very individual and varied. Some make a big change into a completely new career, others take a sideways step in to a similar but different industry or role, some start their own business and for a few they realise the career is right for them but the company they work for isn't. I'm happy to chat though specific examples if you'd like.
What training have you done?
How much do you charge?
For individual career change clients I charge $160 per hour. I invoice for the first 2 sessions before we start the programme, and each subsequent block of 2 sessions will be invoiced in advance.
If something comes up in life or work, we can pause your programme to chat about it. Everybody moves through the programme at their own pace. While 8 to 10 sessions is the average time frame, your programme will be tailored to fit you.
